Position Purpose:

Leads, guides and directs the financial operations of the healthcare facility in accordance with generally accepted ing principles; local, state and federal regulations, standards and established facility policies and procedures to achieve facility financial goals.

Reports the facility’s financial performance at least monthly, and more frequently as needed, to the and the Board of Managers, Directors, and/or governing body as directed.

Identifies, in conjunction with the and selected department heads, the facility’s key performance financial indicators.  Establishes an ongoing system to monitor these key indicators.  These key performance indicators promote the fiscal health of the facility.  

Evaluates key performance indicator outcomes with department heads to determine the need for action from leadership and/or management such as re-education or revisions related to the facility’s financial outcomes.

Develops and implements processes and systems in the Business Office to manage billing, collections (A/R), s payable (A/P), patient trust, liability notices, general ledger functions, business/payroll taxes, purchase orders, cash flow and all necessary business transactions using generally accepted ing principles.

Ensures the Business Office procedures comply with regulatory requirements related to bed-hold notice requirements.

Develops and implements payroll ing processes, including special ing functions required by any employee benefit or retirement plans, insurance ing required by the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, etc.

Produces monthly facility income statement. 

Prepares financial records and cost reports for submission to authorized government agencies as required by current regulations.

Utilizes and is proficient in various excel, word, adobe, and other electronic reporting formats.

Maintains schedules for capital expenses and fixed asset depreciation.

Reviews and interprets monthly financial statements and provides relevant information to the and Board of Directors, Managers, or governing body.

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Trains MDS nurses on duties, assist with auditing, ongoing training, and providing for facilities.

- Identify opportunities of improvement in facilities that the MDS resource s.  Coordinate with therapy and clinical team for improved IDT processes. 

Assists MDS in their duties which include:

- Assess the health records of resident and ensure that written notations are made promptly of significant changes affecting level of activity, eating habits and physical, mental, and emotional status

- Observes and assesses the total resident focusing on all body systems, skin integrity, weight and hydration status and reports changes in resident condition promptly to supervisor

- Completes and validates all MDS assessments and writes CAA’s summaries

- Participates in planning and adjustment of Medicare assessment scheduling

- Completes Care plan and attends Care plan meetings, as scheduled

- Completes LTCMI for Medicare/Medicaid pending residents

- Completes PASARR as required for residents

- Completes/updates the Electronic documentation as required

- Maintains and updates Nursing license in compliance with state regulations

- Performs other related duties as required or requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

· College degree or the equivalent in work related experience

· 3+ years of experience as MDS Coordinator required

- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare/HMO MDS

- Must be graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Vocational Nursing/ ed Nursing

- Must have active state LVN/RN license

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION

The primary purpose of your job position is to supervise the day to day nursing activities of the facility while on duty. Such supervision must be accordance with Long Term Care and CAH Federal, State, and local standards, for the policies and procedures of the facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing Service, to ensure that the highest level of quality patient care is obtained and maintained at all times.

Position Title: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

Job Location: Multi-Facility (Austin, McGregor, Arlington, Lindale, Vernon, TX)

Job Summary:

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest standards of nursing care across multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This position requires frequent travel between the facilities in Austin, McGregor, Arlington, Lindale, and Vernon, TX. The CNO will work collaboratively with facility s and Directors of Nursing to implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve patient outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Ø  Provide strategic direction and leadership to the nursing departments across all facilities.

Ø  Foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional development.

Ø  Mentor and Directors of Nursing and nursing staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.

Quality and Compliance:

Ø  Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

Ø  Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Ø  Monitor and analyze nursing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Policy and Procedure Development:

Ø  Develop, implement, and update nursing policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.

Ø  Standardize nursing practices across all facilities to ensure consistency and quality of care.

Staffing and Recruitment:

Ø  Oversee nursing staffing levels and work with Human Resources to recruit and retain qualified nursing staff.

Ø  Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet patient care needs while managing labor costs.

Budget Management:

Ø  Develop and manage the nursing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Ø  Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality of care.

Patient Care:

Ø  Ensure that all patients receive high-quality, comionate care.

Ø  Address patient and family concerns promptly and effectively.

Travel Requirements:

Ø  Travel frequently between Austin, McGregor, Arlington, Lindale, and Vernon to provide on-site leadership and .

Qualifications:

Education:

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare istration (MHA) preferred.

Ø  Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.

Experience:

Ø  Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

Ø  Demonstrated experience in multi-facility management preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Ø  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Ø  Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Ø  Knowledge of state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities.

Ø  Ability to travel frequently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.

Work Environment:

The CNO will primarily work in various skilled nursing and long-term care facilities across the designated cities in Texas. Travel is a significant component of this role, requiring flexibility and the ability to adapt to different facility environments.
